Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 22) — Crime incidence has dropped by 47 percent nationwide during the period of the community quarantine, the Interior secretary said.
According to a report by the Philippine National Police (PNP), Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said that the number of crime incidence was cut by almost half from September 2019 to present.
The report cites that crimes are now reduced to 92 cases a day from 172.
Año stated during the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday that the best practices such as visibility, beat patrolling, and coordination with local governments be continually implemented by the police.
