Tasaday

The Tasaday are the indigenous people inhabiting the tropical rain forests of South Cotabato in the SOCCSKSARGEN region. Tasadays are believed to be descendants of T’boli and Manobo, who were originally identified as “Linat Batang.”

Their language that is related to the Manubo-type languages, but the Tasadays’ long period of isolation made it different from the Manubo language, which is widely used in Mindanao. Tasadays are considered Lumads like the other natives of the island.
