Al Hamra Jungle Resort

Nestled between the crystal clear waters of the Sulu Sea and lush jungle tropics, set in the Palawan hills with wonderful mountain views, our privately owned British / Filipina resort is a tropical paradise where our guests experience the holiday of a lifetime.

Just 45 minutes' drive south of Puerto Princesa Airport and only 10 minutes from a most beautiful white sandy beach, you'll soon be taking a dip in a calm and sheltered bay, enjoying dazzling sunsets in our marine haven.

Our newly built accommodation features gorgeous Bamboo Kubos constructed using local building materials, in a unique style that resembles a typical Filipino village, dotted amongst the Coconut and Mango groves. Each Kubos is beautifully designed and simply furnished with a queen size bed, electric fan, tiled floor and an excellent view of the exotic tropical setting which is perfect for a peaceful holiday. Close to each private Kubos are newly built bathroom facilities, including a disabled toilet with hot and cold showers plus laundry facilities. 

In the centre of the resort, our idyllic purpose built swimming pool with Jacuzzi and decadent 'swim up' pool bar is the perfect place to unwind. We also offer PADI Scuba Diving Courses from our resident experienced dive and swimming instructor. If you are interested in exploring the underwater wonder that Palawan is famed for we also have a Diving Banka to visit local dive sites and also for Beach Barbeques. 

Our restaurant boasts a full Western Menu including a Full English Breakfast, the only one available in Palawan, there is also delicious local food available in the Cafe Bar at the edge of the resort. Star Gazers will love our 360 degree Star Bar offering beautiful views across the mountains and Puerto Princesa Bay.

Activities available include Kayaking through the Mangrove Rivers, Snorkelling to view the amazingly colourful coral gardens and tropical fish that grace our waters and, at certain times of year, particularly early May, pods of Dolphins will play around our Banka, leaping and spinning and diving down to the seabed. Mountain Bikes are available to explore the many jungle tracks. Other attractions nearby include Hot Springs, Crocodile farm, Waterfalls, Fireflies, and the world famous Underground River which is one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.

Further amenities planned include a Tree House Spa offering massage, manicure and beauty treatments, a Trim Track and Caribou cart rides.

We are happy to arrange transfers to and from the airport upon request and also offer a range of speciality 4x4 vehicles for trips to the beach or exploring jungle tracks - these vehicles are not new but are well maintained and serviced and priced competitively. If you wish, you can also hire a driver who can guide you to the best places to see on the island. There is a ferry service from the local fishing port to Puerto Princesa City - time taken is 35 minutes and cost is 35 Pesos.
