The Dessert of the North “La Paz Sand Dunes”
The La Paz Sand Dunes or Bantay Bimmaboy consists of an area of approximately 85 square kilometers (52 square miles) of protected sandy coastal desert and beach close to Laoag City, the capital of the province of Ilocos Norte. The area is known locally by the name Bantay Bimmaboy, a name which refers to the common perception that the dunes resemble pigs ("baboy" in Filipino) in shape. The area is also known as the Desert of the North and is a popular location for shooting films.

Manjuyod Sandbar – Worthy to Brag about
Do you know that there is a white sand bar in Negros Oriental that only appears during low tide and gets submerged on high tide? Also known as the Sumapao Shoal, Manjuyod Sandbar is an island at the North Bais Bay in the Tañon Strait with so much tourism potential. One famous thing to do is the dolphin and whale watching at the sandbar, which is a major stopover of tourists who are fond of this activity.

We have just finished our tour of the two Subic Beaches in Calintaan Island off the port town of Matnog and were on our way to our last destination for the day. The stronger-than-usual waves of the San Bernardino Strait had kept us from leaving Calintaan Island earlier. But with lunchtime rapidly approaching we decided to go ahead – with approval from our boat crew – and head towards Tikling Island.

White Island: A Stunning Natural Sandbar in Camiguin
White Island beach is approximately 2 kilometres away from Brgy. Yumbing in Mambajao. Since we were staying in Pabualan Cottages near Paras Beach Resort, we figured to just ride the outrigger boats from there. The boats carry a maximum of 6 persons and costs ₱400-450 per 2 way trip. Travel time from the jump-off point to White Island beach is roughly 10 minutes.
