Panagbenga Festival: Baguio's Blooms and Smiles
Little children in their bright-colored costumes; men and women in hand-woven cloths; pretty ladies carrying baskets of fresh cut sunflowers and mums of yellow, red, and orange; and smiles on painted faces. These were the captivating images that greeted me as I hurriedly walked to the assembly area right before the Panagbenga Street Dance Parade started.

Panagbenga Festival
Panagbenga Festival (English: Flower Festival) is a month-long annual flower festival occurring in Baguio. The term is of Kankanaey origin, meaning "season of blooming". The festival, held during the month of February, was created as a tribute to the city's flowers and as a way to rise up from the devastation of the 1990 Luzon earthquake. The festival includes floats that are covered mostly with flowers not unlike those used in Pasadena's Rose Parade.
