Bandi Town: the Peanut Brittle Capital of the Philippines
The municipality of San Joaquin is known as the “Bandi Capital” of Western Visayas. They even had a Bandi Festival before in order to promote the product. Now the festival is already integrated to the town’s annual Bayluhay Festival that commemorates the Barter of Panay and the history of Panay Island.

Longanisa Meatballs with Peanut Dipping Sauce
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients, except 1/4 cup of cilantro and peanut sauce, until just mixed. Roll into 1-inch balls and fry in an electric skillet or large frying pan over medium heat until browned. Arrange meatballs on a large platter and sprinkle with remaining cilantro. Serve immediately with toothpicks and peanut dipping sauce.

Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer here in America. Our outdoor grills will be busy once again while we cook our favorite barbecues all summer long. This easy Peanut-Sesame Pasta Noodle Salad is one of my family's favorites to pair with the pork or chicken Filipino barbecues I often make. In fact, the nutty and sweet flavors of this chilled, hearty salad make it an ideal pairing with any type of entree.
