Philippine National Police (PNP) data on crime management showed that the police solved 81,185 crimes in the first quarter of the year from the crime volume of 92,774, for a crime solution efficiency of 87.51 percent. This amounts to about solving four incidents for every five crimes committed from January to March this year.

Oriental Mindoro Governor Humerlito Dolor asked local police authorities on Tuesday to catch “within 24 hours” the people behind the attempt to contaminate two beaches in Puerto Galera with oil. “I am directing the Philippine National Police, the chief of police of Puerto Galera, find the responsible individuals within 24 hours from my announcement,” said Dolor in a press briefing.

On June 26, police in Manila arrested at least 20 people at an LGBT Pride event protesting an anti-terrorism bill that threatens rule of law in the Philippines. The police did not explain why they were arresting the protesters, only telling them that their actions were prohibited by law. There were no allegations of violence.
